ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING
You've been getting advice about safety for years. You've listened to it with one ear, but maybe you never thought about it much. Deep down, you may even think, "It can't happen to me." Then, your buddy Jack (who's in a hurry to get off work) has a bad accident. It costs him his hand.
The accident affects everyone- - especially you. You can see what it means to Jack- - physical pain, emotional shock, and lost income... He'll have to train for a new job, and his wife will work longer hours. Things are going to be tough for him and his family for a long time. After the accident, you notice your attitude at work has really changed. You make a point of staying alert. You take extra time to use special equipment and procedures. You're more willing to take suggestions that might protect you.
Why wait for this story to become real? A positive attitude toward safety will pay off in countless ways -- saving you money, keeping your job, even saving your life. Why wait until you lose something precious before you realize how easy it would have been to save it? Now is the best time to develop a good attitude toward safety.
Your attitude toward safety is a habit that affects everyone where you work and at home. We can always think of excuses for not acting with safety in mind, but in the end, it makes a lot more sense to have a good safety attitude.

Welcome To The Georgia Association CAP Website!
Welcome Moose Brothers & Sisters,
My name is Lee Langley, the newly appointed Georgia Continuous Accident Prevention (CAP) Program Chairman. I have been an occupational safety and health compliance officer for over 25 years, working for the State of Georgia and the Federal Government. I created this website to share important information and resources that hopefully will help you develop and/or maintain a viable CAP program in your lodge.
So where do we begin? First, each lodge needs to have a CAP/Safety Coordinator chairman, if you don’t have one, here are some tips that can help you select one (Choosing a designated Safety Coordinator). There have been many changes in the CAP program that some of you may not know about. I strongly suggest downloading the documents linked in the “CAP Documents & Forms” section of this website and place them in a binder for easy access. These documents come from Moose International and many are new as of 2007 so please ensure you have the most current version.
In addition to the resources on this website, I plan on routinely emailing safety and health topics that should be of interest. If you would like me to add your email address, please email your request to the email address below. I also plan on developing CAP points of contact for each district to provide lodges additional support. I sincerely look forward to serving the Georgia Moose Association as your CAP chairman.
Thanks for your support!
